A Very Long Start

Wow, I have procrastinated here for a while. I really haven't been working on my story that much, only have one chapter here. I have been more working on poetry which I will post on this blog.

However, for now, I will post chapter 1 of Dark Leviathan.
Leviathan
By Daniel

Synopsis: The city Domos is a prosperous beautiful city and is a great city in part 1. At the end of part 1, a crime boss comes to start takeover. Part 2 is the city in ruin cause of the crime boss mainly and how Lance Specter, a street level Batman type superhero, tries to fight for a lost city. He is the only good in the city and everything else is consumed by the evil that is that crime boss. Part 3 is how the city is in complete ruin and how Lance Specter now works for the crime boss. Lance Specter’s superhero name is Leviathan and the crime-boss’s name is Behemoth. Part 1 is past, Part 2 is present, Part 3 is future.

Part 1
Chapter 1
The sun glared brightly overhead of the city Domos. There were no clouds in the sky and it was a beautiful day. Allen Specter slowly walked up the glimmering marble stairs and entered Knights Building at 10 P.M. on Tuesday morning. The building was 50 stories high and stood proudly over the metropolis of Domos. As Allen walked towards the elevator, he saw his son, Lance, sitting on a bench by the elevator. It was “Take Your Child To Work Day” and Allen took his eldest child to his work. Lance was only 7 years old but he was smart for his age. He was a calm child but ferocity was always present in his cool blue eyes.
Allen approached Lance and held out his hand, waiting for Lance to complete the display of affection. “Ready to see what I do Lance? I think you’ll be excited when you sense what will be around you.” Allen and Lance walked over to the elevator, Allen was calm, not a bead of sweat running down his neck, while Lance was nervous, not knowing what to expect; going into the unknown. They went into the elevator that was going too take them to floor forty, room seven. The music that was playing in the elevator was “Alive” by Pearl Jam. The elevator doors closed then they felt a jerk as the elevator started climbing upward. As it progressed towards the heavens, Allen started talking. Lance had no idea what he was trying to say.

“Man knows many things
But not all
We think we know everything
But we are just fooling ourselves

The desire to explore
Has been and instinct for ages
Whether it be Livingston or Shackleton
Gragan or Wright

Land, sea, and air have been conquered
Nothing else is left they say
But I know where the Great Unknown is

It's in ourselves
It's in our head
It is what perception and reality are
It's our mind

Physically weak
Infinitly strong
Mind over matter
Is the only truth in this world

To explore it is too explore a maze
A labrynth in design
Traps to protect
It itself omnipotent”

Allen finished the poem by the time the elevator stopped. The doors opened and father and son walked into what was called “The Room.”
